Analia Saban's 'Interiors' at Sprüth Magers London Challenges Medium Boundaries
From February 27 to March 28, 2015, Sprüth Magers London showcases Analia Saban's solo exhibition titled 'Interiors,' which spans all three levels of the gallery located at 7A Grafton Street. The Argentine artist's work features hybrid painting-sculptures that merge the lines between art and furniture. Among her notable pieces are 'Claim (from Chesterfield sofa)' (2014) and 'Draped marble (Fior di Pesco Apuano)' (2015). Additionally, two 2015 'Bulge' paintings utilize encaustic to form bulging shapes. Saban's 'Markings' series (2014) consists of photographic collages of paint cans. Inspired by John Baldessari, her creations challenge conventional art classifications. She had a prior exhibition at Josh Lilley in 2010.
