Anahi Angela Mariotti's Site-Specific Installation at Rome's Sala Santa Rita

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Anahi Angela Mariotti (b. 1986, Recanati; lives in Rome) presents 'Se non vedete segni o prodigi, non credete affatto,' a site-specific installation at Sala Santa Rita, a deconsecrated Baroque church in Rome. The work features a red metal structure rising from a black-and-white marble honeycomb floor, referencing the symbolic attributes of Saint Rita of Cascia. Mariotti added small bronze bee sculptures to the grid, breaking its minimalism with instinctive, personal touches. The artist describes the process as gradual, starting from the flooring and then incorporating symbols of the bee and rose. She notes that the bronze micro-sculptures, inspired by her jewelry work, add emotional immediacy and complete the piece. Curated by Daniela Cotimbo, the exhibition runs until May 21, 2016, at Sala Santa Rita, Via Montanara 8, Rome.
