Anacapri Festival del Paesaggio Returns for Third Edition with Renato Mambor Focus

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The Festival del Paesaggio di Anacapri, now in its third edition, was founded in 2015 by curator Gianluca Riccio and Arianna Rosica, merging Riccio's exhibitions (including 2013 shows on Enrico Prampolini and Vedovamazzei) with Rosica's Travelogue residency program at the Capri Palace Hotel, which hosted Gianfranco Baruchello, Sandro Chia, Ettore Spalletti, and Vedovamazzei. The festival's focus on landscape references Edwin Cerio's 1922 Convegno sul Paesaggio, which invited futurists and others to challenge stereotypical views of Capri. This year's edition features a solo show on Renato Mambor, presenting works from the early 1960s (including 'Segnali stradali,' 'Uomini statistici,' 'Timbri,' and 'Ricalchi') alongside his 1980s-90s return to painting after a theatrical period. The group exhibition, themed around the postcard, includes over 20 artists, with Mambor's four postcards connecting the two shows. Fabio Mauri's 1975 work 'Gangster' is shown in a previously unseen double version. A special project by Alessandro Mendini, 'Pointillisme,' was inspired by the majolica floor of San Michele Church in Anacapri and produced with Ceramica di Vietri Francesco De Maio. Previous editions featured Luigi Ghirri (2016), Alessandro Mendini (2017), and last year's pool-themed collective show. The festival aims to expand beyond Capri in the future.
