Ana Mendieta's First UK Retrospective in Over a Decade at Tate Modern
Tate Modern in London will host the first British retrospective of Cuban-American artist Ana Mendieta (1948-1985) in over ten years, from July 15, 2026, to January 3, 2027. The exhibition features her sculptural, photographic, and filmic works deeply connected to nature, including bodies lying in mud, silhouettes drawn in sand, and rituals filmed in Mexico. All works have been restored. The show extends to the outdoor forecourt of the museum.
