Ana Mazzei's Theatrical Installations Explore Body and Space in 2015-2016

In early 2015, Ana Mazzei unveiled The Monolith and the Sentinel at Pivô, located in São Paulo's Copan building, where she reimagined the lobby with a prominent wooden platform and a golden disc encircling the head of an employee. Her artistic focus on the relationship between body and space is illustrated by Garabandal (2015), a piece crafted from iron and fabric that alludes to Virgin Mary sightings from the 1960s. Mazzei’s installations on the floor often incorporate geometric designs made from felt, concrete, or wood, hinting at enigmatic stories. Engaging viewers as participants, her works possess a theatrical essence. In 2017, she was recognized as a Future Great and took part in the 14th Bienal de Cuenca in Ecuador, which concluded on 3 February 2018. In 2018, she showcased solo exhibitions in both France and São Paulo.
