amfAR's 32nd Cannes Gala Auction Features Warhol, Emin, and Colbert

The 32nd amfAR Gala Cannes, held at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc overlooking the Cap d'Antibes coastline, will auction 18 lots spanning contemporary art, haute joaillerie, luxury travel, fashion, and automotive design. The gala supports AIDS research worldwide. Contributors include Chopard, Philip Colbert, Carine Roitfeld, Yves Scherer, and Darren Star. Performers are Robbie Williams and Zara Larsson. A runway show titled "IDOLS" curated by Carine Roitfeld features 19 looks inspired by Madonna, Prince, and Cher, from houses including Acne Studios, Alaïa, Jacquemus, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Prada, Saint Laurent, Tom Ford, Vivienne Westwood, and Willy Chavarria. Notable auction lots include a DENZA x Chopard Z9GT electric vehicle with matching timepieces and Shiro luggage; Andy Warhol's portfolio of ten screenprints "Marilyn Monroe (Marilyn)" from 1967; Philip Colbert's "Reclining Lobster" sculpture inspired by Henry Moore; Tracey Emin's painting "Twilight Zone" contributed by Christian Levett; Yves Scherer's lenticular print "It Never Rained" depicting Kate Moss; Chopard diamond earrings with emerald-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18-carat white gold; a walk-on role in Season 6 of "Emily in Paris" courtesy of Darren Star; and a seven-day Arctic expedition guided by Inge Solheim through Norwegian wilderness with dog sledding and glacier-carved valleys.
