The Venice Architecture Biennale of 2023, overseen by Lesley Lokko, is scheduled from May 20 to November 26, 2023. Five nations from the Americas are showcasing their pavilions: the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Canada. The US pavilion, titled "Everlasting Plastics" and curated by Tizziana Baldenebro and Lauren Leving, includes installations from Xavi Aguirre, Simon Anton, Ang Li, Norman Teague, and Lauren Yeager. Brazil presents "Terra [Earth]," curated by Gabriela de Matos and Paulo Tavares, which examines indigenous territories through the works of Juliana Vicente and Ayrson Heráclito. Argentina's "El Futuro del Agua," curated by Diego Arraigada, focuses on the connection between water and life, while Uruguay's "En Ópera," curated by MAPA+INST and Carlos Casacuberta, discusses the Forest Law.
