Gerald Yin Zhiyao, founder and chairman of Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment (AMEC), revealed in a CCTV interview that the company's plasma-etching technology has become an industry standard and is now used by major international competitors. Founded in 2004, AMEC has developed domestic alternatives for 17 categories of semiconductor manufacturing equipment previously dominated by foreign suppliers. Its MOCVD business, which produces high-precision printers for depositing thin crystal layers on wafers, has gained significant global market share in recent years.
