AMBUSH Opens Shinsaibashi Workshop, Returns Production to Japan
Fashion label AMBUSH, founded in Tokyo by Yoon Ahn and Verbal, has opened the AMBUSH® WORKSHOP SHINSAIBASHI at Shinsaibashi PARCO in Osaka this spring. The space is designed as an immersive environment inspired by industrial frameworks and raw materials. In an interview with Whitewall, the duo discussed Tokyo's influence on their aesthetic, their collaborative process, and the decision to bring production back to Japan. Verbal emphasized Tokyo's duality of precision and chaos, calling it the 'operating system' for their brand. Yoon Ahn highlighted Japan's impact on their ethos of precision, restraint, and intention. They also reflected on their selective runway history—only two shows, in Tokyo (2018) and Milan (2022)—and the importance of craft and authenticity in their work. The spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection drew from '70s funk, multicultural Tokyo street style, and Shibuya's energy. AMBUSH began as an avant-garde jewelry line and has expanded into a multidisciplinary fashion and cultural brand, known for collaborations with Nike and others.
