Ambra Medda Opens AMO Studio in Milan with 'Sail Away' Exhibition During Design Week 2026
Ambra Medda, a key figure in collectible design, has opened a new creative space for her curatorial studio, AMO, in Milan just in time for Milan Design Week 2026. The inaugural exhibition, titled 'Sail Away,' is co-curated with design historian Amy Tai and features ceramics by Greek designer Leda Athanasopoulou and textiles from Chinese artist Yumo Yuan. Athanasopoulou’s pieces include clay vessels made with olive pits from Lesvos and hand-painted shoes, while Yuan’s silk weavings blend vintage textiles with Greek designs. Medda, who co-founded Design Miami in 2005, has relocated to Milan, inspired by its dynamic change. The AMO venue at Via Nullo, 6, will host the exhibition from April 20 to April 24, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with plans for future workshops and residencies.
