Amazon MGM Studios has revealed its intention to renovate Bray Studios in Berkshire, which it purchased two years ago, with the goal of establishing a "thriving new employment hub." The public consultation regarding this initiative will conclude on Sunday. The company aims to present its planning permission proposal this summer, featuring a multi-storey car park, six new sound stages, a café, visitor hub, and farm shop. This redevelopment could generate approximately 3,200 full-time jobs nationwide, with 1,700 located in Berkshire. Amazon emphasizes its dedication to long-term investment in the community. Historically, Bray Studios was the base for Hammer Films, which relocated there in 1951 and created over 100 fantasy and horror films, including The Mummy and Dracula. Additionally, Amazon plans to construct a new roundabout to enhance access on Water Oakley Lane, seeking approval from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council by autumn. A prior proposal for a different film studio in Holyport was turned down last year.
