aMAZElab Celebrates 21 Years of Cultural Activism and Urban Ecology
Celebrating its 21st anniversary, aMAZElab, established by Claudia Zanfi, serves as a cultural hub that intertwines art, ecology, and social activism. Its prominent initiative, GOING PUBLIC (2002-2012), focused on emerging cultures in Europe and the Mediterranean, showcasing exhibitions in cities such as Baghdad and Beirut, and participating in biennials in Venice and Istanbul. Partnering with organizations like Triennale Milano, it highlighted artists including Akram Zaatari and Thomas Hirschhorn. Additionally, the GREEN ISLAND project, initiated two decades ago, emphasizes biodiversity and urban green areas, resulting in publications on urban landscapes. During Milan Design Week, aMAZElab promotes eco-design and provides training for youth and women, striving for inclusive cultural activism.
