Amaran Enters Audio Market with $99 Wireless Desktop Mic

Amaran, stylized 'amaran,' has announced its first audio product, the Amaran Mic, a $99 wireless desktop microphone aimed at live streamers, podcasters, and video content creators. The company, known primarily for its lighting equipment, positions this launch as a major expansion of its ecosystem, moving beyond lighting to support more of the content creation workflow. The mic features a 30-millimeter capsule, an 86-decibel signal-to-noise ratio, and supports sound levels up to 130 decibels, with a built-in limiter to prevent clipping. It includes hardware-level AI noise reduction with three settings: Original Sound, Standard, and AI Noise Reduction. The mic can be used wired via USB-C or wirelessly with a USB-C-powered receiver, offering a wireless range of up to 50 meters (164 feet) and up to 60 hours of battery life. Available in charcoal gray and white, it has on-device controls for noise reduction, volume, and muting, while an accompanying app provides EQ presets, custom curves, and tools like Vocal Enhancement, Noise Gate, and Limiter. The standalone mic with a Desktop Stand Kit is $99 and shipping now, while a kit with a Low-Profile Boom Arm will ship in Q4 for $125, with the boom arm available separately for $49. This move marks Amaran's entry into the audio market, leveraging its existing creator-focused design philosophy.
