Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato Digital Archive Launches with 300 Cataloged Works

digital · 2026-04-23

Launched in September 2023, the Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato Project is dedicated to documenting the artistic creations of painter Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato (1900-1995), who hailed from Minas Gerais. This initiative, spearheaded by gallerist Thiago Gomide and backed by Itaú Cultural, is coordinated by researcher Mateus Nunes. So far, approximately 300 works have been cataloged, with an additional 100 submitted online. Lorenzato's oeuvre is estimated to comprise between 3,000 and 4,000 pieces, showcasing distinctive techniques and themes from the 1920s until 1964. The project aims to elevate his presence in art history beyond Minas Gerais and encourages collectors to submit works for evaluation, tackling issues like vague dates and limited documentation.
