Altrove Festival 2019 shifts focus from public art to dialogue in Catanzaro
The sixth Altrove Festival took place from August 7 to 8, 2019, in Catanzaro, Italy, transitioning from public art displays to discussions about modern creative processes at the Parco Internazionale delle Sculture. After five years and the 2018 exhibition PGSD, organizers Edoardo Suraci and Vincenzo Cosentino revamped the festival. The sole performance featured Domenico Romeo's 01_10_100_100 on August 7. Prior to the festival, from August 4 to 6, artists and operators engaged in conversations about public art, which were recorded for an installation in the park's labyrinth. Notable participants included 2501 and Alberonero. Public discussions highlighted speakers such as Andrea Masu, Edoardo Tresoldi, and Luigi di Capua. The organizers revealed intentions to move from Catanzaro due to persistent organizational issues.
