Alto Adige dominates at Festa dell'Architetto 2019 in Venice

During the 2019 Festa dell'Architetto held at Ca' Giustinian as part of the Venice Biennale, studios from Alto Adige were awarded prestigious honors. The title of 'Architetto Italiano 2019' went to Bergmeisterwolf architekten of Bressanone for their work on Hotel Belvedere in San Genesio, Bolzano, which also received a mention for 'New Construction.' Stifter + Bachmann from Pfalzen earned recognition in the 'Open Spaces, Infrastructures, Landscape' category for Rifugio al Sasso Nero in San Giovanni, Bolzano. Turin's BDR Bureau (Alberto Bottero and Simona Della Rocca) was recognized as 'Giovane Talento dell'Architettura italiana 2019' for Scuola Enrico Fermi and received a mention for 'Restoration or Recovery.' Gnomone from Rome and Giacomo Fava also received mentions for 'Exhibition and Interior Architecture' and design, respectively. Jury president Winy Maas reviewed approximately 400 submissions, while Giuseppe Cappochin inaugurated the event, emphasizing the need for a national strategy to enhance construction quality.
