Altaroma 2020: Upcycling, Young Talents, and Sustainability Take Center Stage
Altaroma 2020 wrapped up after four days at the Guido Reni District, emphasizing sustainability and upcycling. Giada Curti took inspiration from Jean-Jacques Annaud's "L'Amant" with her designs. Italo Marseglia highlighted environmental sustainability by utilizing waste materials, including textiles made from algae and salmon leather, featuring Fiona May on the catwalk. Caterina Moro's "Wood" collection showcased wood and bio fabrics. Federico Cina, the "Who Is On Next?" contest winner, unveiled menswear influenced by Emilia Romagna. The Showcase platform presented 55 designers, primarily from Central-Southern Italy, with over 60% having launched their businesses within the last four years. The event attracted more than 15,000 attendees, featuring 154 brands, nearly 200 students, 51 events, and 21 fashion shows.
