Alphonse Mucha: First Lyon Exhibition at Grand Hôtel-Dieu

From September 4, 2026, until January 24, 2027, Lyon's Grand Hôtel-Dieu will present its inaugural exhibition focused on Alphonse Mucha. This showcase will include more than 90 original pieces, emphasizing the portrayal of women in Mucha's creations, which blend elements of theater, advertising, photography, nature, spirituality, and Slavic heritage. Mucha, who was born in 1860 in Ivančice, studied in Vienna, Munich, and Italy before moving to Paris in 1887. His partnership with Sarah Bernhardt in 1894 gave rise to the 'Style Mucha,' and he later produced The Slav Epic. Curated by Giulia Silvia Ghia and organized by Arthemisia and Fever, the exhibition features loans from Portu Gallery Investments s.r.o.
