Almine Rech to Open Shanghai Gallery in July

Almine Rech-Picasso established her gallery, Almine Rech, in Paris in 1997 and is set to unveil a new venue in Shanghai's Bund district on July 12. The 370-square-meter gallery, situated at 27 Huqiu Road in the Amber Building, overlooks the Rockbund Art Museum and occupies a former Central Bank of China warehouse. Candice Gu and Damien Zhang will oversee the new space. The opening exhibition will showcase works from various gallery artists, followed by "Abstraction(s)" at the Song Art Museum in Beijing on July 20, featuring 13 artists, including John M Armleder and James Turrell. Rech-Picasso expressed excitement about entering Shanghai's growing art scene, joining other Western galleries like Lisson and Gagosian.
