Alma Haser's Photographic Sculptures: Still Life Week Feature

Still Life Week at Lenscratch showcases Alma Haser, an artist originally from Germany and now based in the UK, known for her innovative fusion of photography, sculpture, and installation. Haser’s technique involves transforming images into tangible forms through traditional methods such as paper folding, collage, and mixed media. Featured projects include 'Four Legs', which presents ceramic chairs set against altered backgrounds, and 'Tired Warrior Defeated in Love', where portraits are re-photographed alongside printed images. Rejecting digital tools, she emphasizes a tactile approach. Her series 'Tired, Warrior, Devoted, In Love' delves into motherhood's intricacies, integrating anonymous survey feedback. Haser’s accolades include the Magenta Foundation's Bright Spark Award and the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize. In October, her works will be displayed at Hove Museum of Creativity, facilitated by Photoworks and Thames & Hudson's Mini Photographers Book.
