Allegra Ravizza launches archival project on 20th-century art at Flashback 2019

At Flashback 2019 in Turin, Lugano-based gallerist Allegra Ravizza presented Piano Sperimentale I, the first in a series of historical archives focusing on 20th-century art. The project debuted as a modular secretaire composed of six mobile cubes designed by architect Carlo Ziliotto, containing original scores, manifestos, correspondence, and audio materials related to Futurist music. The archive centers on four key figures: Francesco Balilla Pratella, Luigi Russolo, Franco Casavola, and Silvio Mix. Ravizza described the initiative as a declaration of intent, shifting from selling individual works to offering entire curated corpora. She aims to counter the over-commercialization of art by emphasizing intellectual and historical value. The next installment, continuing the experimental music path up to John Cage, is scheduled for April 2020.
