All(zone) Curates Fabric Pavilion Installation for RAM Assembles Biennial in Shanghai
The Shanghai Picnic installation, curated by architecture firm All(zone), is part of the second RAM Assembles at the Rockbund Art Museum. It showcases ten airy pavilions topped with vibrant mesh canopies. Rachaporn Choochuey, co-founder of All(zone), referred to it as a communal space for unplanned interactions. Titled Under A Common Sky, the installation features platforms that function as benches, tables, and stages. Contributions came from four emerging design firms: WWWorks designed Pipe Up!, a public water fountain; Tangent Essays created a zigzag blue platform; Studio Vapore added moss-covered hills; and Alkhemist Architects crafted colorful carts. The canopies offer shade during Shanghai's hot summers, highlighting All(zone)'s expertise in tropical design. The event is scheduled from September 12 to 28, 2025.
