Alimentari Flaneur Opens Bottega Event Space in Harlem

In the spring of 2020, Daniel Soares launched Alimentari Flaneur, a catering business that began as a pop-up produce market during New York City's lockdown. Now, he has unveiled the bottega, his first dedicated event venue, located on 121st Street in Harlem, a building owned by his family for over 20 years. Soares personally renovated the area, adding a tin ceiling and outfitting the kitchen with second-hand appliances, before collaborating with local designers Joel Harding and Yuria Kailich from Enso. The versatile layout is suitable for gatherings ranging from small dinners for ten to larger birthday celebrations for forty. Privacy is ensured with frosted street-facing windows, and a Murphy bar can be discreetly stored away. The design draws inspiration from Martha Stewart, Ralph Lauren, and the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Regular guest Krissy Jones, co-founder of Sky Ting yoga studio, enjoys the relaxed atmosphere, as the space operates without a membership system and does not require advance booking.
