Alicja Biala to create Maid Marian statue for Nottingham
Alicja Biala, known for large-scale public artworks across Europe, will create a new statue of Maid Marian for Nottingham. Commissioned by Nottingham City Council, BACKLIT Gallery, and It's in Nottingham, the silhouette sculpture will be made from cast-metal fragments and bronze foliage of local plants like English oak and bluebell. It will be installed this summer at the rain garden on Maid Marian Way and Upper Parliament Street, a key city entrance.
