Alice Stori Liechtenstein curates eighth edition of Operae design fair in Turin

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The eighth edition of Operæ. Independent design fair will take place from November 3 to 5 at Lingotto Fiere in Turin, under the theme 'Why Design'. For the first time, the fair is curated by Alice Stori Liechtenstein, an Italian-born designer and curator based in Austria. She founded Schloss Hollenegg for Design in 2015, a platform supporting designers under 35. The fair moves from its historic central Turin venues to Lingotto, aligning with contemporary art fair Artissima. Two sections are open for applications until September 22: one for designers and one for design galleries. Stori Liechtenstein sees a 'Renaissance of Italian design' among young talents and emphasizes design's role as a bridge between arts and sciences. The fair will also feature Piemonte Hand-Made, showcasing local craftsmanship.
