Alice Motard named chief curator of CAPC Bordeaux

Alice Motard, currently serving as a curator at Spike Island in Bristol, has been named the chief curator for CAPC musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux, effective March 2016. Before taking on this new position, she will finalize two solo exhibitions at Spike Island: Michael Beutler in Spring 2016 and Xavier Antin in Summer 2016. Motard earned her MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art in London, having also studied Art History at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Freie Universität Berlin. Her prior experience includes roles in educational departments at Palais de Tokyo and Frac Île-de-France/Le Plateau in Paris, and from 2008, she was the deputy director and exhibitions organizer at Raven Row in London. During her two-year period at Spike Island, she curated solo exhibitions featuring Anna Franceschini, Isabelle Cornaro, and Reto Pulfer, along with an offsite project by Gareth Moore.
