In una conversazione del 2008 con Alexandra Schwartz per Exhibition Histories di Afterall, Alice Aycock riflette sui suoi anni formativi nella scena artistica newyorkese tra la fine degli anni '60 e gli anni '70. Ha conseguito la laurea triennale al Douglass College nel 1968 prima di iscriversi all'Hunter College per il master, dove ha studiato con Robert Morris e altri.
