ai-technology · 2026-05-19

Alibaba has just shared sneak peeks of its Qwen3.7-Max-Preview and Qwen3.7-Plus-Preview models, which are currently leading among Chinese AI systems on the LM Arena benchmark site. According to LM Arena's report on Tuesday, the Qwen3.7-Max-Preview ranked 13th globally for text abilities and 16th for vision skills. This news comes right after the launch of the Qwen3.6 series last month and just before the Alibaba Cloud Summit in Hangzhou on Wednesday, where a major new model is expected to be revealed. Unlike the earlier Qwen3.6 series, which needed a paid API, these previews are open for user feedback to help improve them. Alibaba, which owns the South China Morning Post, hasn’t given any prior details about the Qwen3.7 series.
