Alibaba launches MuleRun AI agent platform across 43 countries

Alibaba has unveiled MuleRun, an AI agent platform described as an "always-on AI workforce," at the Alibaba Cloud summit on May 20. The platform aims to lower adoption hurdles for businesses and users in 43 countries, including China, Brazil, and Mexico, by enabling easy access to AI agents for research, reports, coding, and other complex tasks. Chen, who joined Alibaba in 2023 as a researcher in the CEO's office and later oversaw global expansion including a stint in Mexico City, is behind the platform according to his LinkedIn profile. MuleRun is positioned as a safer alternative in the agentic AI space, with Alibaba leveraging its reach across multiple countries to promote adoption.
