artist · 2026-04-24

Ali Moini, a dancer, created a performance titled "Man anam ke Rostam bovad pahlavan" inspired by the Persian myth of the hero Rostam. In the show, Moini places his body on equal footing with a puppet that he animates as his double, which gradually gains independence. The work explores the unsettling mechanisms governing the relationship between the dancer and his puppet. The performance was reviewed in artpress, issue n°438, November 2016, pages 60-64.
