Alfredo Rapetti Mogol: From Songwriting to Painting, an Artistic Journey
Born in Milan in 1961, Alfredo Rapetti Mogol is a painter and lyricist, the son of renowned songwriter Giulio Rapetti Mogol. Writing under the name Cheope, he has crafted songs for notable artists such as Laura Pausini, Raf, and Eros Ramazzotti. Notably, he co-wrote "Io sì (Seen)" for Pausini, which received a Golden Globe nomination and was shortlisted for the Oscars in 2021. His foray into painting started in 1996, characterized by the use of black paint and fragmented text. Curator Gianluca Ranzi recognized his unique technique, "parola scomposta." He has showcased his work in Milan and New York, participated in the Venice Biennale, and is currently preparing a collaborative installation for the Florence Biennale in October, along with projects for Eros Ramazzotti and Alessandra Amoroso.
