Alfredo Pirri's RWD–FWD Opens at His Studio, Kicking Off Multi-Phase Project
On January 25, 2017, Alfredo Pirri, who was born in Cosenza in 1957, opened the RWD–FWD exhibition at his studio-archive in Rome. This event, curated by Ilaria Gianni and supported by the Nomas Foundation, is part of a broader initiative titled I pesci non portano fucili, which also encompasses a workshop at Nomas Foundation and a retrospective at Macro Testaccio in the spring of 2017. Since 1999, Pirri has lived in Mandrione, where he has converted his garage studio into a white box. The exhibition showcases archival materials spanning from the 1980s to the present. He plans to create a large-scale piece from 150 residual images for the retrospective, set to open on April 2, 2017, with the finissage marking his 60th birthday.
