Alfredo Pirri's 'Passi' Installed in Former Power Plant Near Bergamo
Alfredo Pirri's site-specific mirrored floor installation 'Passi' has been reinstalled in a former thermoelectric power plant in Bergamo, Italy, after being removed from the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome in 2015. The new location is the Daste e Spalenga power plant, built in 1927 and active for over 30 years, now serving as an industrial archaeology site. The installation is part of the tenth edition of contemporary locus, a project that creates temporary connections between contemporary visual research and disused historical spaces. Curated by Paola Tognon, the work reactivates the 'industrial cathedral' that has been dormant since the 1960s, illuminating it day and night. The exhibition runs until July 24, 2016.
