Alfredo Pirri's 'Acustica' at Eduardo Secci, Milan

Alfredo Pirri's exhibition 'Acustica' is on view at Eduardo Secci in Milan, curated by Laura Cherubini. The show presents recent works centered on sound, vibration, and the visual fixation of infinite propagations. Frequencies and waves trace concentric geometries with strong optical references, incised with razor precision into the delicate brilliance of watercolor. Pirri's meticulous painting technique, often associated with small, highly elaborate formats, surprises here with larger scales and dimensions, resulting in great transparency yet dominated by a profound, sometimes sacred and spiritual force. The exhibition also includes medium-small series that recall embryonic proofs for large-format works, decorative triumphs between the sumptuousness of a tapestry and the quality of wallpaper. The leaden depth of almost always cold tones and a technical application foreign to tradition perfectly mirror the same distance between 'acoustics' and figurative art. Pirri bridges this impossible distance by composing forms and colors musically, creating imagined landscapes and vibrant superimpositions. The exhibition runs in 2021.
