Alfabeta's Artist Proofs on View at Galleria Civica di Modena
The Galleria Civica di Modena is showcasing 'Prove d'artista di Alfabeta,' an exhibition highlighting unique artworks made for the covers of the famous cultural magazine Alfabeta. This magazine, active in Milan from 1979 to 1988, was founded by notable figures like Nanni Balestrini, Gino Di Maggio, Umberto Eco, and Paolo Volponi. Each issue featured a special artist's proof, with contributions from more than sixty creatives, including Enrico Baj, Alighiero Boetti, and Fausto Melotti, who designed the cover for issue 44 in 1983. After the magazine ceased publication, these original pieces were incorporated into the Galleria Civica di Modena's collection, which is now exhibiting a curated selection.
