Alexandra Sà's Rural Residency Exhibition at Centre Culturel, Ribérac

Alexandra Sà, a French artist working in photography and video, presented her work at the Centre culturel de Ribérac from November 16 to December 9, 2006, concluding a residency as part of the Résidences de l'art en Dordogne program coordinated by ADDC Arts Plastiques. The exhibition included a series of photographs and three large-format posters, where Sà often appears from behind, a ghostly fragment biting into the landscape while preserving its singularity. In her short video sequences, she experiments with falling figures, reducing her silhouette to its contour against empty backgrounds, or choreographs workers in strange, purposeless movements stripped of tools or context. Sà's approach emphasizes transparency: her body becomes a source of astonishment and an atmospheric event; landscapes are stripped of brilliance but gain unsuspected depth; emptied figures are animated by energy that overcomes the void. The artist navigates between presence and absence, knowledge and ignorance, proximity and distance, blending the 'already seen' with the 'never seen.' Other 2006 residents included Nicolas Boone (experimental cinema) and Stefania Di Petrillo (design).
