Àlex Rigola's Final Venice Biennale Theatre Edition

The 44th Venice International Theatre Biennale took place from July 26 to August 14, 2016, marking Àlex Rigola's final year as director after seven editions. Babilonia Teatri earned the Silver Lion for "Pinocchio," and innovative takes on classics were presented in Koršunovas's "Žuvėdra" and Klata's "Krol Léar." Rigola's approach was commended for its relevance but faced criticism for some repetitiveness.
