Alex Chinneck warps taxis and cars into Dior window sculptures for NYC and LA

exhibition · 2026-05-19

To celebrate the first anniversary of its flagship stores in New York and Beverly Hills, British artist Alex Chinneck has designed unique window installations for Dior. The New York location on 57th Street features nine sculptures, including a yellow taxi that appears to peel upward, traffic lights that burst into fans, and lamp posts shaped like bows. Meanwhile, in Beverly Hills, five pieces inspired by boulevard visuals include a red car looping dramatically, decorative lamp posts, and sleek bodywork. These installations creatively reinterpret street elements—lamps, signs, and vehicles—into designs reminiscent of couture draping and construction, highlighting Dior's enduring connection with the U.S. since 1947. Photography credits go to Guillaume Barry.
