Alessandro Para Wins Premio FotoGrafia do ut do

On February 5, 2025, the Premio FotoGrafia award ceremony took place at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, organized by do ut do to support promising student research. Four students received prizes, with Alessandro Para winning first place for his photograph 'Tombarolo al lavoro,' praised for its expressive intensity and technical skill. The image, shot in December 2025 in Ieud, Romania, depicts a worker resting while digging a grave by hand, a scene Para captured spontaneously with a Mamiya 7II camera lent by photographer Dorin Mihai. The award theme was 'Identity,' framed not as individual assertion but as a plural self existing through relationships. Do ut do is a cultural initiative that organizes art, architecture, and design events to support the Fondazione Hospice MT. Chiantore Seràgnoli Onlus, which runs hospices and the Accademia delle Scienze di Medicina Palliativa – ASMEPA. Para's ongoing project includes two sections: 'Unorthodox' (black-and-white images from May 2024, documenting Orthodox Easter in Romania) and 'So Far' (color images from December 2025, including the winning photo). He traveled with photographers Dorin Mihai and Sorin Onisor to Maramureș, a region chosen for its preserved traditions. Para, a student at Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, previously graduated from Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Rimini in October 2024.
