Alessandro Mendini and Matia Bazar's 'Architettura Sussurrante' Reissued After 35 Years
Alessandro Mendini, a prominent Italian architect and designer, passed away in February 2019 at the age of 87. In 1983, he collaborated with Matia Bazar and Magazzini Criminali to produce the unique album 'Architettura Sussurrante,' which embodies the Alchimia design movement he helped establish. Starting on March 29, 2019, Industrie Discografiche Lacerba will release a reissue of the album, which will include 300 copies on transparent vinyl, along with a CD and digital download, featuring a new cover designed by Anti-B Design. Curators Lapo Belmestieri and Paolo Cesaretti emphasize the project's interdisciplinary nature. The music draws inspiration from Erik Satie and Brian Eno, aiming to create a spatial experience without requiring concentrated listening. The collaboration originated from Mendini's 'Scenic Boxes' for 'Crollo Nervoso,' which led to the track 'La casa è la casa è la casa è.' Additionally, the reissue will feature an extended version of 'Casa mia' by Mauro Sabbione, who is now able to perform the complete text live.
