Alessandro Lupi's 'One, Too, Free' at Cubo Unipol, Bologna
Alessandro Lupi (Genoa, 1975; lives in Berlin) presents 'One, Too, Free' at Cubo Unipol in Bologna, an exhibition exploring perception and imagination. The show begins outdoors with a large site-specific installation, 'Frammenti di realtà,' a cascade of mirror fragments that float and reflect light. Inside, small sculptures on pedestals under transparent cases feature miniature objects whose shadows do not match their forms. The wall piece 'Antiego' reflects surroundings but obscures the viewer's face. In the final room, 'Seconds' features sixty-one clocks that refuse to keep time, creating a discordant sound that evolves into a rhythmic march. Curated by Ilaria Bignotti, the exhibition runs until March 28. A collateral program curated by Federica Patti included performances by Zimmerfrei and GnuQuartet, an artist talk, the symposium 'How Long is Forever?', and an electronic live reading 'Concetto e gli specchi' dedicated to Concetto Pozzati.
