Alessandro Formigoni's Post-Apocalyptic Chessboard at HIRO PROSHU Modena
A new cultural space has opened in Modena, hosting an installation by Alessandro Formigoni on the theme of agonism. The work, titled 'La scacchiera dell’evoluzione,' features small white glazed ceramic humanoids arranged like soldiers on a chessboard floor, surviving in a post-apocalyptic world besieged by parasites. The sculptures are complemented by illustrations depicting melancholy scenes. The project is supported by gallery D406, with which Formigoni collaborates as an artist. The installation has attracted the attention of collector-chef Massimo Bottura. Curated by Andrea Losavio, the exhibition runs until October 22, 2016 at HIRO PROSHU, Via Sant’Eufemia 55, Modena.
