Alessandro Amarante Deconstructs 100 Ties into Fashion Collection
Artist Alessandro Amarante created a fashion collection from 100 deconstructed vintage silk ties, completed in seven days. The project, titled '100 TIES,' transforms the tie—a symbol of conservative masculinity—into garments that assert female power. The collection includes rose appliqués, bikini sets, mini-skirts, and an XXL tie. Model Hannah Protz wears the pieces in diverse scenarios: business looks, bikinis, and gala mini-dresses at a funfair. Amarante served as art director, photographer, designer, and stylist. Makeup was by Amy Brown, with set and light assistance from Zayn Garip and Anna Putnik. Fashion brands used include 4th & Reckless, Hunter, True Decadence, Kiwi & Co, Public Desire, and Azalea Wang. The work was featured as a KALTBLUT exclusive.
