Alejandro Iñárritu's VR Project Funded by Fondazione Prada

Fondazione Prada is financing a new experimental virtual reality short film by two-time Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, following his 2016 film series 'Flesh, Mind and Spirit' at the Milan venue. The project, developed over four years with longtime collaborator and three-time Oscar-winning editor Emmanuel Lubezki, will explore the intense experience of a group crossing the US-Mexico border using cutting-edge technology. ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm's immersive entertainment division, will design the virtual setting and characters. The foundation is co-funding the project alongside Legendary Entertainment, which has co-produced many films with Warner Bros. The short will premiere in spring 2017 at Fondazione Prada in Milan. Meanwhile, George Lucas is deciding between San Francisco and Los Angeles for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, set to open by 2020 with 40,000 works including pieces by Edgar Degas and Keith Haring. Fondazione Prada recently inaugurated its Osservatorio photography space in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.
