Alejandro Cardenas weaves sci-fi and mythology in Tribeca solo show

From May 8 to June 13, 2026, Almine Rech in New York will host 'ARACHNE,' featuring the works of Alejandro Cardenas, marking his seventh exhibition at the venue. Cardenas hails from Chile but currently resides in Madrid. Born in 1977 in Santiago and raised in Miami, he graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art with a BFA in 2000. Renowned for his surrealistic paintings and sculptures, Cardenas delves into themes such as science fiction, surrealism, and ancient mythology, often incorporating symbolic imagery to contemplate a post-human world. This event is his sixth collaboration with the gallery.
