Ale Giorgini collaborates with Jacques Durand on limited edition eyewear for Milan Design Week 2026

Italian illustrator Ale Giorgini has partnered with artisanal eyewear brand Jacques Durand to launch a limited edition collection of four models, each representing a city significant to the brand: Vicenza, Milan, New York, and Tokyo. The collaboration stems from Giorgini's personal experience with glasses, which he views as an extension of identity rather than mere visual aids. Hidden inside the frames are engravings of Giorgini's illustrations, described as a private luxury visible only when the glasses are removed. Additionally, the temple tips feature profiles of two of his characters that merge into a kiss when closed. The collection maintains Jacques Durand's signature elegant and clean aesthetic with flat fronts and sharp edges, allowing the illustrations to introduce narrative without overwhelming the design. The eyewear will be presented by Punto Ottico Humaneyes at Piazza Meda 3 in Milan during the Milan Design Week 2026, from April 20 to 26. A live painting session by Giorgini is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Notably, the glasses are produced in Vicenza, near where Giorgini was born and raised, adding a biographical layer to the project. This collaboration transforms eyewear into wearable art, emphasizing personal expression and craftsmanship.
