Aldo Lurgo: tatuaggi e cucito per un dialogo generazionale

Aldo Lurgo, an artist from Alba born in 1992 who currently resides and works in Milan, showcases his video 'Dirti sì mi è difficile' (2015, HD, 9.27 min, color) as part of the 'Dall'Archivio Viafarini' project featured on Artribune. The video captures the moment when Lurgo requests his grandmother to tattoo some designs she created the previous day. Initially hesitant, she ultimately agrees, finding a connection between the tattoo machine and her sewing machine, which she expertly handles. The footage juxtaposes scenes of her sewing with the tattooing process, accompanied by a voiceover of Lurgo's request. Through this work, Lurgo examines 'common life norms' and the dynamics between artwork, space, and audience, utilizing existing objects to highlight human behaviors and provoke critical thought. This initiative follows a series of interviews with artists from the Viafarini Archive, including Mati Jhurry, Isabella Benshimol, Giada Carnevale, and Marina Cavadini.
