Alcova Expands to Mexico City for 2027 Art Week with Two Venues

In February 2027, Alcova, a nomadic design platform, will host two exhibitions during Mexico City art week, marking its second international venture outside Milan. One exhibition will take place in a renovated 1930s structure located in the Juárez neighborhood, in partnership with the restoration-focused developer Proyectos Publicos. The other venue is Casa Reforma, a 1950s residence designed by Francisco Artigas, which architect Lorena Vieyra restored for the furniture brand Piacere. This house previously showcased furniture from Vieyra's Omet label, featuring creations by Tatiana Bilbao. Established in 2018, Alcova has gained recognition for utilizing underused spaces during Milan design week, most recently at the Baggio Military Hospital in 2026. The organization highlighted Mexico City's rise as a hub for innovative design and its historical ties to Alcova Milan as motivations for this expansion. During Milan design week 2026, Alcova will conduct discussions previewing the Mexico City event, including one featuring Proyectos Publicos founder Pepe Islas. The official dates for Alcova Mexico City 2027 are yet to be announced.
