Alcova 2026 transforms Baggio Military Hospital with experimental design installations
The Alcova exhibition during Milan Design Week 2026 is set in the Baggio Military Hospital, showcasing original features such as laundry areas and kitchens through preserved frescoes and tiles. In the former church, VERSA scenography studio crafts a spiritual atmosphere enhanced by fog and sound, displaying furniture designed by Leo Lague. Xaver Kuster and Paul Canfora offer a new take on public water fountains, drawing inspiration from Paris and London. Retro acoustics come alive with performances from Slalom Acoustic Systems, V.A.I., and Studiolatte. Sten Studio unveils 'The Wedding' in a deserted chapel, while Caveat illustrates spoon production in the garden. Studio Do transforms marble scraps, and Pani Jurek Studio incorporates rainbow ceramic tiles. HEAD – Geneva confronts the Anthropocene with edible art installations.
