Alchemilla Bologna Launches International Residency Program with Three Artists

Alchemilla, a cultural association in Bologna, has launched a new residency program curated by Giulia Giacomelli and Gabriele Tosi. The program hosts three international artists over two-month periods, combining individual research with engagement with the local art scene. Benedetta Fioravanti (born 1995, Ascoli Piceno) will be in residence from April to May, working with found footage and archival images to explore everyday observation and image circulation. Sofia Durrieu (born 1980, Buenos Aires) will follow in June and July, focusing on sculpture and performance, investigating the body, environment, and perceptual processes. Eleni Tomadaki (born 1990, Athens) will conclude the cycle, working across painting, drawing, text, video, and performance to address otherness, language, and power. Each artist will present outcomes through open studios, installations, talks, or performances. The program is set in the historic Palazzo Vizzani, aiming to foster dialogue between the protected interior and the chaotic contemporary world, while connecting artists with Bologna's art scene.
